Foot Levelers Custom Orthotics in Eden Prairie
An 'orthotic' is an insert designed to restore your natural foot function and slides into your shoes to improve your balance, posture, and overall alignment. Complaints such as heel pain, knee pain, shin splints, arch and lower back pain are often caused by poor foot function and the loss of 1 or more of the 3 arches that support your whole body. Foot Levelers Custom Orthotics in Eden Prairie MN
At Floro Chiropractic we use the industry leader in custom- made, flexible orthotics which is Foot Levelers from Roanake, Virginia. Foot Levelers makes various high-quality types of custom orthotics that are perfectly fitted to you rather than generic, mass- produced ones. Their orthotics are the only ones made that help to restore the balance between all 3 arches in the foot, thus leveling the structures above which in turn helps alleviate pain from the ankles on up. In addition, Foot Levelers orthotics give a more even weight distribution, taking pressure off sore spots (e.g. the ball of the foot, corns in between toes, bunions etc.) and they provide shock absorption with innovative materials and their patented Gait Technology for heel strike, mid- stance, and toe off.
Who needs orthotics?
Orthotics benefit people with foot or low back pain or discomfort due to walking or excessive standing, especially on hard concrete floors, or individuals that experience ankle, foot, knee, leg, back, shoulder pain in general or while being active in sports. Also individuals with bunions, achilles tendonitis, mild, moderate, or severe arch pronation aka flat feet, heel pain, shin pain, plantar fascitis, etc. would also benefit from orthotics. Appropriate age range for Foot Levelers orthotics is 6 years to senior.
How do I get fitted for custom orthotics?
Foot Levelers orthotics are flexible, so they provide the ultimate in shock absorption and comfort. We use the latest in technology via a 3D laser scanner that takes 17 measurements of pressure points in your arches as you are standing to create a truly custom fit orthotic.
How long will my Foot Orthotics last?
Typically, up to 24 months.
Does it take time to get used to orthotics and what do I need to know once I receive them?
Your feet may need time to adjust to the correction in your orthotic and it may take up to 45 days. Therefore, orthotics should be gradually used to begin with. During the first 48 hours of use, use the orthotics for approximately 3-4 hours. After this period of time it is recommended you use the orthotics for 6-8 hours. Some individuals however may not need a break-in period and quickly adapt to their flexible orthotics. We recommend that you wear your orthotics all the time, even in your home versus going barefoot so that you still maintain the best foot alignment and arch balance. Doing so will not only give you the best arch balance but will also will give you maximum pain relief. Be sure to take out any arch support in your current shoes prior to inserting your custom orthotics and slide your orthotics into new shoes when you are trying them on in the store for the best fit. Any shoes that you have with uneven heel wear should be replaced and never worn with your custom fit orthotics.
